Dirt King on Velocity

RSS

On the season finale of “Texas Metal”, airing on the Velocity network on 12/26, we had the opportunity to work with Ektensive Metal Works to bring a 2017 Ford F-150 back to life.

In the episode [Bills Baja Truck] Extensive Metal Works resurrects a wrecked 2017 Ford F-150 and transforms it into an off-road beast capable of daily driving or prerunning the baja. This 2017 F-150 build is utilizing our Ford- F-150 Long Travel Suspension System that is capable of 18” of usable travel.

2017 Ford F-150 | Ekstensive Metal Works

As a multi-award winning custom car builder, specializing in lowered and lifted suspension systems, Ekstensive is not typically known for their off-road builds. However,  Owner Bill Carlton, wanted to take on something outside of the norm for his personal project.

Not wanting to cut any corners Extensive Metal Works went with our King built spec shocks to dampen the ride. The coilovers consist of 10” stroke 2.5 bodies that utilize our custom valving paired with 700lb springs. The bypass is a 3.0 body with an 10” stroke set up with our custom tube layout and valving that keep the ride smooth throughout all 18” of the suspension cycle.

We were impressed with the overall build and the craftsmanship that went into the project by Ekstensive Metal Works, we hope to have the opportunity to work with them and Velocity more in the future.
