Parts Included
1. Disassembly
a. Remove the sway bar link.
2. Shock removal
a. Remove the upper shock hardware.
b. Remove the lower shock hardware.
c. Remove the shock from the vehicle.
3. Shock install
a. Install the Dirt King shock with the reservoir hose pointing toward the front of the vehicle. Hand tighten the upper shock hardware.
b. Note: Aftermarket upper control arms are required with these shocks to allow for the additional down travel that the shocks provide.
4. Shock install continued
a. Align the lower mounting bar pin to the lower control arm. Ensure the flat surface of the bar pin sits flush on the control arm and the rounded side faces up.
b. Apply red thread locker to the lower shock bolts and torque to 60 ft-lbs.
5. Inner fender trimming
a. Using an air saw, trim the inner fender well to allow for reservoir clearance.
6. Mount reservoir bracket
a. Mount the reservoir bracket to the upper shock mounting studs using the provided hardware.
b. Torque all three nyloc nuts to 35 ft-lbs.
7. Mount reservoir
a. Mount the reservoir to the bracket.
b. Torque the clamp hardware to 12 ft-lbs.
c. Note: Ensure the reservoir hose is not contacting the coil bucket.
8. Final assembly
a. Reconnect the sway bar link.
b. Torque to 17 ft-lbs.
c. Repeat the steps for the opposite side.
d. Have the vehicle aligned at a qualified shop. If your vehicle is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), ensure they are calibrated as well.
