Parts Included
1. Raise the vehicle and prepare for install
a. Safely raise the vehicle. Ensure that you have safety stands to secure the vehicle while lifted.
b. Remove the front wheels.

2. Remove upper shock hardware
a. Remove the three nuts securing the shock to the upper coil bucket.

3. Remove upper control arm ball joint
a. Remove the ball joint nut attaching the ball joint to the steering knuckle.
b. Separate the ball joint from the knuckle using a ball joint separation tool.
c. Secure the steering knuckle to keep it from overextending the CV axle and other components.

4. Remove the sway bar link
a. Remove the sway bar link nut from the lower control arm and remove the link from the lower control arm.
b. Perform this step on both sides of the vehicle at this time. This will allow enough suspension droop to remove the shock.
c. Loosen the sway bar mounts at the frame to help remove the links from the lower control arm.

5. Remove shock
a. Remove the two lower shock mount bolts from the lower control arm.
b. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

6. Remove the upper control arm
a. Remove the ABS line bracket attached to the upper control arm.
b. Remove the two bolts securing the upper control arm to the coil bucket.
c. Remove the upper control arm from the vehicle.

7. Remove the factory bump stop
a. Using an appropriate cutting tool, cut off and remove the factory bump stop.
b. Make sure to sand down sharp edges when done. Paint any exposed metal.

8. Install the new Dirt King upper control arm
a. Note: Aftermarket shocks are required for lift to achieve proper alignment. Install shock per your manufacturer's instructions.
b. Insert the Dirt King upper control arm into the mounting pockets and secure with the OEM hardware.
c. Torque the hardware to factory specifications: first pass = 89 ft-lbs, second pass = 45 to 60 degrees.
d. Reattach the ABS line to the control arm using the supplied line clamp. Apply small amount if blue thread locker to the 10-24 bolt and torque to 23in-lbs.
e. Insert ball joint cap onto the upper control arm.

9. Install ball joint to steering knuckle
a. Insert the ball joint into the steering knuckle and press in to seat it.
b. Torque the ball joint nut to 85 ft-lbs.

10. Repeat install for the opposite side
a. Inspect your work.
b. Repeat the install process for the opposite side of the vehicle.

11. Reattach sway bar and link
a. Mount the sway bar link into the lower control arm. Tighten the nut to 37 ft-lbs.
b. Tighten the sway bar mounts at the frame to 74 ft-lbs.

12. Mount wheels and align vehicle
a. Mount your wheels and torque the lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specifications.
b. Have the vehicle aligned at a certified shop. If equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), ensure recalibration is performed.
