1. Tools Needed

a. Gather tools needed for the job:

  • Torque Wrench
  • Breaker Bar
  • Socket Wrench
  • 21MM Wrench
  • 21MM Socket

2. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation

a. Safely raise the vehicle by the frame and support the rear axle.

b. Wheel removal is not required, but it can aid in the installation process.

3. Remove shock

a. Remove the lower shock bolt.

4. Remove shock (continued)

a. Remove the upper shock bolt.

5. Remove shock (continued)

a. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

6. Install the Dirt King shock

a. Place the Dirt King shock into the upper mount.

b. Install the bolt and torque to 70-ft lbs.

7. Install the Dirt King shock (continued)

a. Ensure the reservoir hose is facing away from the frame. This will position the reservoir toward the rear of the vehicle on the driver side, and toward the front of the vehicle on the passenger side.

8. Install the Dirt King shock (continued)

a. Install the lower bolt and torque to 118-ft lbs.

9. Review your work and repeat steps on the other side of the vehicle

a. Inspect all components to ensure they are properly installed.

b. If the wheels were removed, reinstall the wheels and torque the lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer's specifications.
