Parts Included
1. Tools needed
a. Gather tools needed for the job:
- Breaker Bar
- Socket Wrench
- Torque Wrench
- 21MM Socket
- 19MM Socket
- 21MM Wrench
- 19MM Wrench
- 5MM Allen Socket
- Razor Blade (Optional)

2. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation
a. Safely support the vehicle by the frame.
b. Remove the front wheels.

3. Remove shock
a. Remove the lower shock bolt.

4. Remove shock (continued)
a. Remove the wiring harness clips on the studs and remove the upper shock nuts.

5. Remove shock (continued)
a. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

6. Reservoir mounting bracket fender liner clearance
a. Place the included reservoir bracket on top of the upper shock mounting bucket and install the bolts and washers.
b. Option A: The fender liner can typically be pushed enough out of the way to clear the reservoir and reservoir mounting bracket.
c. Option B: If the fender liner cannot be successfully pushed out of the way, carefully cut around the reservoir mounting bracket as marked out in the image. Take caution while cutting to avoid damage to surrounding components.
d. The reservoir mounting bracket and bolts can remain in place.

7. Install the Dirt King shock
a. Note: If not already installed, aftermarket upper control arms are recommended to allow for the additional down travel that these shocks provide.
b. Insert the reservoir up through the control arm.

8. Install the Dirt King shock (continued)
a. Insert the shock up into the mounting bucket and prepare to align the upper bolts.

9. Install the Dirt King shock (continued)
a. Place threadlocker on the bolts and insert the included spacers between the mounting pin and the upper shock mount.
b. Tighten the bolts through these spacers and torque to 65-ft lbs.
c. Ensure the flat surface of the mounting pin is mated to the spacer, and the rounded surface of the pin is facing the ground.

10. Install the Dirt King shock (continued)
a. Align the lower eyelet and install the factory bolt.
b. Torque the lower bolt to 118-ft lbs.

11. Locate Reservoir
a. Place the reservoir into the mounting clamps. Torque bolts to 12-ft lbs.
b. Verify hose clearance. If not satisfactory, the reservoir can be rotated within the clamps. Rotate the reservoir if needed and re-torque bolts.

12. Review your work and repeat steps on the other side of the vehicle
a. Inspect all components to ensure they are properly installed, while making sure that all lines and hoses are routed properly.
b. Reinstall the wheels and torque the lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specifications.
c. Have the vehicle aligned at a certified shop. If equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), ensure recalibration is performed.
