1. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation

a. Safely support the vehicle, then remove the rear wheels.

2. Remove the shock from the vehicle

a. Remove the lower shock hardware. Do not discard the hardware.

b. Remove the upper shock hardware.

c. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

3. Install the reservoir mount

a. Remove the plastic cap located on the outside of the frame rail to the rear of the upper shock mount. This is where the hardware will be inserted.

b. Install the provided step washers onto the hole where the plastic cap was removed. One washer goes on the outer frame rail and one washer goes on the inner frame rail.

c. Use the provided hardware to install the reservoir mount to the frame rail. Torque the bolts to 30 ft lbs.

d. Use the provided band clamp to secure the reservoir mount to the frame. The band clamp should be fitted to the cutouts on the reservoir mount. Optionally, you may trim the excess length of the band clamp.

4. Trim for clearance

a. Trim the wheel liner on the left side of the vehicle to allow clearance for the reservoir. See the image in this step for reference.

b. Note: The fuel pump controller may need to be loosened and repositioned upward to provide clearance for the reservoir mounting hardware.

5. Install the Dirt King shocks

a. Install the upper shock stem into the shock mount. Ensure the shock stem is centered, then torque the hardware to 18 ft lbs. The reservoir hose should be routed toward the rear of the vehicle.

b. Install the lower shock hardware and torque to 72 ft lbs.

6. Mount the shock reservoir

a. Install the shock reservoir into the clamps, then torque the hardware to 12 ft lbs.

7. Review your work and repeat steps on the other side of the vehicle

a. Inspect all components to ensure they are correctly installed.

b. Reinstall the wheels

c. Torque lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specifications.
