1. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation

a. Safely support the vehicle and remove the wheels.

2. Remove skid plate

a. Remove the skid plate hardware and remove the skid plate.

3. Remove sway bar

a. Remove the sway bar mount brackets at the chassis.

b. Perform this operation on both sides of the vehicle.

Install shock bolt

4. Disconnect the upper control arm

a. Unbolt the line clamp from the upper control arm.

b. Remove the ball joint nut at the steering knuckle.

c. Separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle using a ball joint separator tool. Separate the upper control arm from the steering knuckle.

Install shock bolt

5. Remove shock

a. Remove the sway bar link nut at the knuckle. Detach the link from the steering knuckle.

b. Remove the upper shock hardware.

c. Remove the lower shock hardware.

d. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

6. Install the Dirt King coilover

a. Note: Aftermarket upper control arms are required to allow for the additional down travel that the coilovers provide.

b. Install the coilover into the chassis.

c. Apply blue thread locker to the upper mounting bolts and torque to 35 ft lbs.

d. Apply red thread locker to the factory lower shock bolt and torque to 70 ft lbs.

e. Reattach the sway bar end link to the steering knuckle. Torque the nut to 52 ft lbs.

7. Reattach the upper control arm

a. Install the upper control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle. Torque the upper control arm hardware according to your manufacturer's instructions.

b. Reattach the line clamp to the upper control arm per your manufacturer's instructions.

8. Install the sway bar spacer

a. With the sway bar brackets removed, install the Dirt King sway bar spacers to the chassis using the longer supplied socket head bolts. Torque to 37 ft lbs.

b. Install the sway bar brackets to the sway bar spacer using the shorter supplied socket head bolts. Torque to 37 ft lbs.

9. Install the skid plate spacers

a. Remove the skid plate mount support bolts and discard the hardware.

b. Using the longer bolts provided in your kit, mount the spacers between the skid plate supports and the chassis. Torque the bolts to 70 ft lbs.

c. Reinstall the skid plate.

d. Reconnect the sway bar link and torque to 52 ft lbs.

10. Review your work and repeat steps on the other side of the vehicle

a. Inspect all components to ensure they are correctly installed. Repeat the process on the other side.

11. Reinstall the wheels and align the vehicle

a. Torque the lug nuts to your manufacturer’s specs.

b. If your vehicle is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems, ensure it is recalibrated.
