1. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation

a. Chock the front wheels.

b. Lift and secure the rear of the vehicle on jack stands.

c. Remove the rear wheel.

d. Remove the shock.

2. Remove factory lower link

a. Remove the forward and rearward nuts securing the link in place.

b. Place a jack under the rear axle and slowly lift until the hardware becomes loose.

c. CAUTION: Do not lift the truck off the jack stands.

d. Remove the bolts securing the lower link.

e. Remove the lower link from the chassis.

3. Install Dirt King lower link

a. Insert the link into the chassis and axle mounts. The heim will be toward the front with the pinch bolts on top and skid plate on the bottom.

b. Insert the rear bolt to secure the link.

c. Insert the front bolt. Use a large punch to assist with alignment of the bolt hole if needed.

d. Install the lower link nuts and torque to factory specification: 103 ft-lbs.

Note: Skip steps 4 and 5 if you are not installing DK-817852 upper links.

4. Remove factory upper link

a. Remove the forward and rearward nuts securing the upper link in place.

b. Place a jack under the rear axle and slowly lift until the hardware becomes loose.

c. CAUTION: Do not lift the truck off the jack stands.

d. Remove the bolts securing the upper link.

e. Remove the upper link from the chassis.

5. Install Dirt King upper link

a. Insert the link into the chassis and axle mounts. The heim will be toward the front with the pinch bolts on the bottom.

b. Insert the rear bolt to secure the link.

c. Insert the front bolt. Use a large punch to assist with alignment of the bolt hole if needed.

d. Install the upper link nuts and torque to factory specification: 103 ft-lbs.

6. Reinstall shock

a. Reinstall the shock per the manufacturer’s instructions.

b. Remount the wheel and torque the lug nuts to the wheel manufacturer’s specifications.

7. Inspect and repeat on opposite side

a. Inspect work and ensure all hardware is torqued.

b. Repeat all steps on the other side of the vehicle.

c. Lower the vehicle and check wheel torque one more time.
