Parts Included
1. Tools needed
a. Gather tools needed for the job:
- Torque wrench
- Socket wrench
- 5 mm Allen socket
- 10 mm socket
- 12 mm socket
- 13 mm socket
- 17 mm socket
- 19 mm socket
- 10 mm wrench
- 19 mm wrench
- Flat head screwdriver
- Drill

2. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation
a. Safely support the vehicle by the frame and remove the wheels.
b. Support the rear axle.

3. Remove shock
a. Remove the lower shock hardware. Do not discard.
b. Remove the upper shock hardware. Do not discard the bushings.
c. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

4. Reservoir mounting insert installation
a. Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the outer frame plug.

5. Reservoir mounting insert installation (continued)
a. On the passenger side, remove the two bolts shown in the image. These are located opposite the outer frame plug that was previously removed.
b. Note: The inner frame plug on the driver side is not obstructed by a bracket. For driver side installation, proceed with the next steps that do not involve this bracket.

6. Reservoir mounting insert installation (continued)
a. Carefully pry back the bracket to gain access to the inner frame plug.
b. Use a flat head screwdriver to remove the inner frame plug.

7. Reservoir mounting insert installation (continued)
a. Install the threaded reservoir mounting bracket insert. Ensure the extruded side is captured within the hole.

8. Reservoir mounting insert installation (continued)
a. Place the bracket back into place and install the bolts.
b. Torque both bolts to 21 ft-lbs.

9. Install the reservoir mounting bracket
a. Place the reservoir mounting bracket over the outer frame hole that was exposed in Step 4.
b. Align the center hole of the bracket with the threaded insert that was installed in Step 7, and install the included bolt and washer.
c. Ensure the bracket is parallel to the frame and torque the bolt to 19 ft-lbs.

10. Sleeve installation
a. After the bracket placement is complete, install the included self-tapping screw into the leftmost hole of the bracket.

11. Sleeve installation
a. Install the included sleeve onto the top stem.

12. Factory bushing installation (recommended)
a. Install the factory lower bushing.
b. Note: Ensure the larger inner diameter of the lower bushing is facing the frame.

13. Included bushing use (optional)
a. The OEM bushings are recommended; however, the included bushings can be used if needed. Using the included bushings will not require the additional sleeve.
b. Note: Ensure the locating ridges on the bushings are facing the frame.

14. Install the Dirt King shocks
a. Install the upper shock stem into the mount. Ensure the locating ridges on the bushings are centered within the mount and install the included nut. Torque to 18 ft-lbs.
b. Install the lower shock hardware and torque to 72 ft-lbs.
c. Note: Ensure the upper hardware is torqued prior to the lower hardware.

15. Locate reservoir
a. Insert the reservoir into the reservoir clamps. Torque bolts to 12 ft-lbs.
b. Note: Verify hose clearance is satisfactory. If not adequate, rotate the reservoir within the clamps to adjust clearance and retorque bolts.

16. Review your work and repeat steps on the other side of the vehicle
a. Inspect all components to ensure they are properly installed.
b. Reinstall the wheels and torque the lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specifications.
