Parts Included
1. Tools needed
a. Gather tools needed for the job:
- Socket wrench
- Breaker bar
- 19mm wrench
- 19mm socket
- 17mm socket
- 12mm socket
- 5mm Allen socket
- Torque wrench

2. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation
a. Safely support the vehicle by the frame and remove the wheels.
b. Support the rear axle.

3. Remove shock
a. Remove the lower shock hardware. Do not discard.
b. Remove the upper shock hardware. Do not discard the bushings.
c. Remove the shock from the vehicle.

4. Frame plug removal
a. Remove the frame plug closest to the factory bump stop.

5. Insert installation
a. Install the reservoir bracket mounting insert. Ensure the rounded ear faces the rear of the vehicle.
b. Note: The insert will need to be placed in with the rounded ear first. It can then be flipped out to comfortably sit in the frame. A bolt can be used to assist in the installation.

6. Reservoir bracket installation
a. Install the reservoir bracket. Torque the bolts to 19 ft-lbs.

7. Sleeve installation
a. Install the included sleeve onto the top stem.

8. Factory bushing installation (recommended)
a. Install the factory lower bushing. Ensure the locating ridge is facing up to center itself in the upper mount.

9. Included bushing use (optional)
a. The OEM bushings are recommended; however, the included bushings can be used if needed. Using the included bushings will not require the additional sleeve.

10. Install the Dirt King shocks
a. Install the upper shock stem into the upper mount. Ensure the locating ridges on the bushings are centered within the mount and install the included nut. Torque to 18 ft-lbs.
b. Install the lower shock hardware and torque to 72 ft-lbs.
c. Note: Ensure the upper hardware is torqued prior to the lower hardware.

11. Locate reservoir
a. Insert the reservoir into the reservoir clamps. Torque bolts to 12 ft-lbs.
b. Verify hose clearance. The reservoir can be rotated if hose clearance is not adequate.

12. Review your work and repeat steps on the other side of the vehicle
a. Inspect all components to ensure they are properly installed and have adequate clearance.
b. Reinstall the wheels and torque the lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specifications.
