1. Prepare for installation

a. Disconnect the battery’s positive and negative terminals.

b. Using your vehicle’s owner’s manual, locate and unplug your Engine Control Module.

c. Raise and safely secure the vehicle.

d. Remove the front wheels.

2. Prepare the Dirt King alignment cams

a. Locate the cam guides onto the alignment cams.

b. Weld the cam guides onto the alignment plates.

c. Do not weld the guides on the inside. The alignment hardware will need to be able to rotate on these surfaces.

3. Remove lower control arm

a. Mark the location of the cams. Ensure you have drawn a large enough line that will reference the location of the cams even after you grind away paint for welding.

b. Remove the lower shock bolt, then loosen and remove the alignment cam hardware. Gently lower the control arm out of the mounting pockets. There is no need to remove the shock bolt or ball joint from the knuckle.

4. Remove factory alignment cam tabs

a. Grind away the factory spot welds and remove the OEM alignment cams.

b. Remove any paint that will come between the new cam gussets and the frame during the welding process.

5. Weld Dirt King alignment cams

a. Locate and match the slotted holes between the new cams and the factory slots.

b. Clamp the cam in place.

c. Cover any areas of the truck that can be damaged by weld heat or spatter.

d. Weld the outer edges to the left and right of the alignment cams in place.

e. Repeat the process for the remaining 3 cams.

6. Reassemble

a. Allow cams to cool and paint.

b. Reinstall the lower control arm and locate the alignment hardware to the same positions they were removed.

c. Torque cam hardware to factory specification: 129 ft lbs.

d. Torque lower shock bolt to factory specification: 61 ft lbs.

7. Inspect work

a. Inspect your work and repeat the steps on the other side of the vehicle.

b. Reinstall front wheels and torque lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specifications.
