Parts Included
1. Raise the vehicle and prepare for install
a. Safely support the vehicle.
b. Remove the front wheels.
c. Prepare for disassembly.
2. Remove upper control arm
a. Note: Removal of the front shocks is not required. If you do decide to remove them, follow Fox instructions on removal and installation procedures.
b. Remove the nut attaching the upper control arm ball joint to the steering knuckle. Separate the two using a ball joint puller.
c. Loosen and remove the two rear upper control arm bolts.
d. Remove the upper control arm.
3. Install the upper control arm rear bolts
a. Mount the new Dirt King upper control arm into the mounting pockets using the factory hardware.
b. On the passenger side, you can install the hardware from the outside in to help ease installation. On the driver side, only the right side bolt can be inserted from the outside in.
4. Install ball joint to steering knuckle
a. Line up the steering knuckle to the upper control arm and insert the ball joint.
b. Secure using the provided nut.
5. Torque hardware
a. Torque the rear pivot bolts to the factory specifications: 122 ft-lbs.
b. Torque the ball joint nut to 85 ft-lbs.
c. If you removed the shock, reinstall per Fox instruction procedures.
6. Inspect your work
a. Inspect your work. Ensure everything is tight.
b. Repeat the steps on the other side of the vehicle.
c. Remount wheels and torque to your manufacturer’s specifications.
7. Align the vehicle
a. Have the vehicle aligned at a qualified shop.
b. If your vehicle is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), ensure it is recalibrated.
