Parts Included
1. Raise the vehicle and prepare for installation
a. Safely support the vehicle.
b. Remove the front wheels.

2. Separate the steering knuckle from upper control arm
a. Remove the sway bar nut and separate from the steering knuckle.
b. Remove the bolt securing the ABS line to the steering knuckle.
c. Remove the steering tie rod nut and separate the tie rod from the knuckle using a ball joint puller.
d. Remove the axle nut dust cover. Remove the axle retaining nut.
e. Remove the ball joint nut and separate the ball joint from the steering knuckle using a ball joint puller.
f. Support the steering knuckle to prevent overextending the brake and ABS lines.

3. Remove the shock from the vehicle
a. Remove the three shock absorber upper nuts.
b. Remove the shock absorber lower nuts and bolts.
c. Remove the shock assembly. It may be necessary to pry down on the lower control arm to gain clearance to remove the shock.

4. Remove the upper control arm
a. Remove the two upper control arm bolts and nuts.
b. Remove the upper control arm from the chassis.

5. Install the new Dirt King upper control arm
a. Mount the upper control arm using the two factory bolts and nuts.
b. Torque the nuts to factory specifications: 122 ft-lbs.

6. Reinstall shock
a. Note: Aftermarket shock is required for proper alignment and to account for the additional down travel the upper control arm provides.
b. Install the new shock according to your manufacturer's instructions.

7. Reinstall steering knuckle
a. Insert the upper control arm ball joint into the steering knuckle. Torque the ball joint nut to 85 ft-lbs.
b. Install the axle retaining nut and torque to factory specifications: 30 ft-lbs.
c. Install the steering tie rod to the knuckle and torque to factory specifications: 66 ft-lbs.
d. Install the ABS line to the knuckle and torque the bolt to factory specifications.
e. Install the sway bar and torque the nut to factory specifications: 111 ft-lbs.

8. Review your work
a. Review all your work and repeat the steps on the other side of the vehicle.

9. Reinstall wheels and align
a. Reinstall the wheels and torque the lug nuts to your wheel manufacturer’s specifications.
b. Have the vehicle aligned at a qualified shop. If your vehicle is equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), ensure it is recalibrated.
