2020 Shop Transformations
2020 wasn't so bad after all...
Over the years Dirt King has been continuously growing with minimal increase in warehouse size. By the end of 2019 we put together a plan to expand the shop square footage to nearly four times larger. The new layout would allow us to expand each department which included welding, deburring, installs, machining, assembly, shipping, and inventory. The beginning of 2020 we acquired the space from the tenants on both sides of the building. Immediately we started knocking down walls and began construction. Shortly after we were faced with the unexpected obstacle of COVID-19. We questioned what the future looked like for our industry and if we should reconsider the new expansion? Our conclusion was to have multiple back up plans for revenue and stay all in!
Meanwhile, other companies either slowed down production or stopped completely during the peak of COVID-19 in 2020. Operations were slow for the first few weeks but to our surprise the demand spiked. All of our stocked inventory at the time was selling out rapidly, so our production was in full force trying to keep the shelves stocked in order to meet the demand. With a rise in production we were quickly growing into our newly added space here at our facility. The expansion allowed us to increase production in every single department maximizing our resources and growing as a company. We finished off 2020 in a good position to keep growing the company even further, we are looking forward to what 2021 has in store for us and we are excited in continuing to offer the best suspension products in the market!
